Adapting Mediterranean Marine protected areas to climate change

ASSESSING VULNERABILITY

With this climate vulnerability assessment tool, you will be able to understand how Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Mediterranean Sea are impacted by climate change. We look at Sea Surface Temperature increase and Marine Heat Waves under future climate change scenarios. You will be able to browse through the ecological and socio-ecological vulnerability of your MPA and find the indicators that contribute the most.

 

Constructing the index

Climate vulnerability in your MPA depends on the exposure to climate change, on the sensitivity to Sea Surface Temperature increase and Marine Heat Waves, and the adaptive capacity to cope with these impacts.
