Elena Ojea es investigadora senior en el CIM-Universidad de Vigo y actualmente dirige el proyecto CLOCK: Climate Adaptation to shifting stocks, financiado por el Consejo Europeo de Investigación con una ERC Starting Grant. Elena es licenciada en Ciencias Ambientales y doctora en Economía, y tiene experiencia como postdoc y becaria de investigación en el Centro Vasco de Cambio Climático (BC3). Fue investigadora visitante en la Bren School for Environmental Science and Policy (EEUU) durante 2013, continuando su visita durante los años siguientes. Allí se unió al grupo de pesca sostenible y tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar con expertos de la UCSB en el conjunto de soluciones para la gestión de la pesca sostenible en muchos sistemas que se aplican en todo el mundo. Para continuar este trabajo, Elena se incorporó a la Universidad de Vigo en el verano de 2016 y puso en marcha el Future Oceans Lab, un grupo de investigación con sede en Vigo sobre sistemas marinos y cambio climático. También está participando en el próximo Informe de Evaluación del IPCC (6AR) como autora principal del capítulo de Océanos del WGII.
