MAKING our research data FAIR
Last week, our research assistant Haritz Ayarza attended the FAIR Data for Marine Sciences course organized by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) and funded by European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC).
The 3-day course covered the principles behind FAIR data and provided practical exercises to apply those principles to real research. The sessions focused on improving the findability and accessibility of data, increasing interoperability through standardization, and ensuring data can be reused effectively.
By learning to make data FAIR, researchers can enhance sharing, reuse, and long-term preservation of data. The course equipped participants with valuable skills for managing and publishing marine FAIR data.
We are excited to implement these best practices in our research.
