FOL publishes a scientific dissemination book for children
FOL member Iratxe has co-authored with Amelia Benito del Valle, professor at the University of the Basque Country, a new book on freezer purse seine fishing for children. The objective of the book is to illustrate tropical tuna freezer purse seine fishing and integrate the concepts of global warming and sustainability for dissemination purposes. The book tells the story of two main characters, a skipper and his daughter, who spend a journey in a vessel called Tuni-Ontzi.
The book is available in three languages: Basque, Galician and Spanish. It will be offered as a gift to skippers and workers from the Spanish and Basque fishing industry who took part and facilitated a survey conducted by Iratxe for her PhD. This work has been possible with the collaboration of many people, so thank you Elena O., Julia A., David D., Koiote, Jon M., Nuria H. and Javier G.!
you can find the book here, and enjoy the TheBookDay!
