Job Opportunity: postdoctoral position on climate vulnerability assessments

FOL OF CIM OF THE UNIVERSITY OF VIGO OFFERS A TEMPORARY POSITION TO MANAGE AND DEVELOP THE TASKS OF A H2020 PROJECT

07/05/2020 -

The Future Oceans Lab, member of the Marine Research Centre (CIM-UVIGO) offers a postdoctoral position for a researcher with a strong interest in working on adaptation to climate change in the oceans and willing to contribute to cutting edge research questions.  Full job details can be found in the EURAXESS and in this PDF file.

The successful applicant will be in charge of the development of the project tasks related to the design and implementation of climate vulnerability assessments. He/she will be supported by the Principal Investigator (Elena Ojea) and H2020 European FutureMARES project consortia (FutureMARES). This is a highly multidisciplinary project, which will provide socially and economically viable nature-based solutions (NBS) for climate change adaptation and mitigation to safeguard these ecosystems’ natural capital, biodiversity and services. FutureMARES will develop a multi-level approach from an ecological, social and an economic perspective to develop three, climate-ready NBS in the oceans: i) restoration of habitats, ii) conservation actions, iii) sustainable, ecosystem-based harvesting. The overall goal is to know how NBS can increase the adaptation and mitigation potential of marine and transitional ecosystems.

We look forward to reading your applications! Interested candidates please send application materials, following the indications in the EURAXESS job offer (same as in this PDF), to futureoceanslab@uvigo.es.
