International PhD opportunity on marine socio-ecological systems adaptation to climate change
The Future Oceans Lab reopens the call for seeking a highly motivated, outstanding PhD student with a background in marine ecosystems management. This is a fellowship to start a PhD project which will be co-supervised by Drs Elena Ojea (University of Vigo) and Jorge García Molinos (University of Hokkaido). Full job details can be found in EURAXESS.
The successful applicant will enroll in the doctorate program Do Mar from Campus do Mar and develop a relevant PhD proposal in the first months with guidance from both co-supervisors. The subsequent multidisciplinary applied research will be related to climate change adaptation in small-scale fisheries, combining natural and social science, including ecological, social and economic components. Moreover, it will have a strong applied focus on coastal-dependent human communities affected by shifts in marine species composition.
Interested candidates in conducting a PhD in the topic, and with great technical, language, and team work skills can send the application materials, following the indications in the EURAXESS job offer (same as in this PDF), to futureoceanslab@uvigo.es.
We look forward to reading your applications!
