FOL gets once again involved in scientific dissemination

The Training Caravan initiative of the Basque Centre for Climate Change is back in its 9th edition

20/03/2018 -

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) jointly with the Department of Education of the Basque Government have been launching since 2010 an initiative called “Training Caravan” (Researchers at the classroom). FOL member Iratxe Rubio, who is currently based at BC3, is organizing and taking part in the 9th edition of this initiative.

The aim of the Training Caravan is to “provide evidence(science)-based answers to some central questions about climate change, drawing on the best current scientific understanding and at the same time, making science education and careers attractive for young people” (follow this link for more information). For that purpose, 10 high schools in the Basque Country have been selected, where researchers from BC3 are going to give talks about climate change and about scientific careers. At FOL we are committed to making a lasting contribution in science dissemination and we are proud to see Iratxe working on making scientific careers more attractive to the young generation!
