The Interdisciplinary Fisheries Seminar program starts this week

Eduardo Sánchez opens the series on November 16th talking about stock assessment methods

On November 16th, at 14:30, Eduardo Sánchez from the University of Alicante (Spain) will present the results of his Master thesis, directed by José Mª da Rocha, professor at the University of Vigo. Eduardo holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Fisheries Management and will be the first speaker in the new series of seminars between Campus do Mar and ECOBAS. This series is an new academic forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in fisheries research between students and scholars in the area.

Eduardo will present “A comparison between stock assessment methods and assessment of management scenarios: a practical study case for European hake in GSA’s 12-16”. His work deals with the different ways to improve the assessment of fish stocks status to mitigate the negative impacts over marine ecosystems and communities due to the increasing pollution levels, global warming and over urbanization of coastal areas. The conference will take place at Seminar07 at Economics Faculty of University of Vigo and it will be recorded to be will soon available on our webpage and social media.
