Euromarine Network grant awarded to Diego Salgueiro for his PhD training
Euromarine is a European marine science network launched in 2014 which represents the merger of the scientific communities of three former European Networks of Excellence (EUR-OCEANS, Marine Genomics Europe and MarBEF). Its primary goals are to support the identification and initial development of important emerging scientific topics or issues and associated methodologies in marine sciences, as well as to foster new services relevant to the marine scientific community.
Diego Salgueiro, PhD student and member of Future Oceans Lab will be financially supported by the Euromarine fellowship to participate in a training course on social-ecological systems (SES). This opportunity will allow him to visit the international Stockholm Resilience Centre (Sweden) in order to attend the course on Quantitative Methods for studying Social-Ecological Systems, which is embedded in an international PhD program. This two-week training will enhance his knowledge on resilience in social-ecological systems and will help him to find useful quantitative methods to apply in his research thesis about climate change and social-ecological systems on Galician artisanal fisheries. Congratulations Diego and good luck!
