Elena Fontán joins Future Oceans Lab

Elena will continue her research on international fisheries and climate change

27/04/2017 -

MSc student Elena Fontán will take part of FOL team as a research assistant in order to contribute to academic research on climate change impacts on international fisheries and adaptation. Elena has an excellent trajectory with experience working with fisheries associations in a cooperative of industrial fisheries (ARVI), and research experience abroad at the EAWAG centre in Switzerland. This new opportunity will allow her to continue learning and have first-hand experience with research applied to current fisheries under climate change.

Elena Fontan is currently working on her master thesis on the effects of climate change in international fisheries under quota management, where she explores the problem of shifting stocks due to changes in the ocean due to climate change. This study will contribute to CLOCK ERC funded project. Welcome Elena!
