In Brussels for the 10th Anniversary of the European Research Council

Elena goes to Brussels to an ERC climate change workshop to present CLOCK

04/04/2017 -

The European Research Council (ERC) has promoted cutting edge science in Europe for already 10 years. As one of the events of the 10th anniversary, the ERC organized an expert workshop on climate change research, including projects lead by starting, consolidating and advanced grantees.

The Workshop on Climate Change took place in March 31st, and experts from different backgrounds presented their research in topics from the reconstruction of climate conditions of the past, to understanding the delivery of ecosystem services in drylands under climate change or forecasting education in future societies to better account for climate change socioeconomic impacts.

We had our representation with Elena presenting the goals of CLOCK, introducing the need for adaptation in marine fisheries due to climate change impacts on the distribution of marine stocks. The audience were members of Horizon2020 Societal Challenges, mainly Societal Challenge 5 on Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials.

As part of the celebrations of the ERC 10 years’ anniversary, Future Oceans Lab was also featured in a video made by the Spanish Science and Technology Foundation (FECYT), that you can see here.
