PhD student Alba Aguión, part of Future Oceans Lab Team, was awarded a PhD grant (bolsa predoutoral) by the University de Vigo to develop her research on the spatial variability of stalked barnacle (Pollicipes pollicipes) along Galician coast in the context of climate change. The thesis is being directed by Dr. Elena Ojea and Dr. Gonzalo Macho, from Ecocost.
This study is part of the ERC funded project CLOCK and of the PERCEBES project (BIODIVERSA/0005/2015) which combines ecology observations together with the development of a bioeconomic model and tools to improve the management and monitoring of the stalked barnacle fisheries. Alba Aguión will be financially supported by the predoutoral University de Vigo fellowship.
